Everyone is talking about 2021 and New Year’s resolutions, right?  Well, I take a different approach to setting goals for each new year…I use a Vision Board (I’m a creative expressionist, it’s important to me to visualize my goals) and conclude with an annual Vision Statement.

Using the Mary Square Create Your Journey Spiral Planner I select goals in six key areas of my life: spiritual, family, community, physical, personal, and financial.

Ultimately, the point of my Vision Board is to define a Vision StatementTo use my driven, stubborn, tenacious soul to practice self-control, and create a calm, peaceful, prosperous life of joy. That’s not your typical New Year’s resolution!

As the New Year approaches, I encourage you to think creating your own revolutionary vision board:

·         Purchase a cheap presentation board from your local dollar store

·         Define one action item to be taken in the coming year for each key area of your life

·         Decorate your presentation board with images of encouragement and display it in a location you will see daily, perhaps on your closet door.

Regardless of your New Year’s resolution process, make it realistic, memorable, achievable, and comprehensive—encompassing all areas of your life—not just a weight goal.

So gather the old magazines, markers, glue, poster-board, and GET STARTED!
